New Year’s Resolution: Donate a Book a day for a Month

Happy New Year Everyone!

While thinking about what kind of new year’s resolutions to make for myself personally, it occurred to me: why not make a resolution for our local Little Free Library?

So in the spirit of giving for the holiday season, I resolve to put at least one book a day into Little Free Library #8424 for every day of the month of January. I hope this adds some new variety to what the neighborhood is reading.

After this, perhaps I’ll do a little bit of work on the Library’s wishlist.

Today’s Books: December 9, 2015 – Peter Hautman Edition

In an effort to provide more selection to our young adult readers, we’ve recently added a handful of new books. Today we’ve added three by Peter Hautman including:

In the past few days, we’ve also had a handful of favorites come back home to roost, so there’s some great new selection this week.

Today’s Books: December 8, 2015 – Douglas Adams Edition

For Sci-Fi fans out there (and in honor of Andrew’s birthday this week) we’ve released four new Douglas Adams books from the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy this morning!

As always there are a variety of other fiction, non-fiction, and even magazine choices as well. (Here’s a Periscope video of what we’ve got right now.)

Free Books for the Holidays or Boarding Passes Make Great Bookmarks

As a reminder for readers traveling during the holidays, or those who have friends/family visiting for the holidays:

Our Little Free Library has a nice selection of great fiction for your long flights and your extended stays.

This is how our neighborhood Little Free Library can help:

  • Why spend a ton of money on pulp fiction at the airport, when you can borrow it here for free before you leave? Just stop by before or even on your way to the airport.
  • Have some free time for reading during the holidays? We’ve got you covered while libraries are closed or have limited hours.
  • Have guests visiting and need some entertaining reading to place by the nightstand? You can put out new books every day, or direct them to our library within a short walk for a wider selection.  Remember: no library card needed!
  • When your flight is over and you don’t know what to do with that book you’ve finished, donate it back to our library for others to share. (We’ve had many books donated recently with airline ticket/boarding pass “bookmarks” from New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and even London and Argentina in them.)
  • You’ve had relatives or visitors who brought some books they’ve finished, but they don’t want to fly it back in the opposite direction because they’re now laden with presents? Donate them to our library for others to enjoy.

Little Free Library: Always Free, Never for sale, and best of all, NEVER any late fees!

Happy Holidays Everyone!
